Membership of the Arden Theatre Company is limited, and by audition only. The company will hold open auditions some time during April or May, for people wishing to join the company for their next production.

Current members of the company are usually given the choice to automatically be re-cast in the new production, without audition, but there usually is space for new members. The standard is high, and in the past, it has only be a small percentage of the applicants who have been considered for parts.

You need to be between 15-20 years old to join the company. Because of the way Shakespeare writes, boys have higher odds than girls of getting in. If you aren't committed, driven, enthusiastic about theatre, and prepared to work hard, don't bother applying. The company is committed to producing quality work, and it is a fun but very productive journey on each production.

If you don't get in, please don't be too disappointed; there are plenty of other theatre groups in the area, but please don't ring or e-mail us to find out why - it's most likely because you don't fit into the way the current production has been cast so far.
